  • PLANNING AND EVALUATION COMMITTEE

    Objectives:

    • * Prepares an overall comprehensive development plan of the college regarding academic, administrative and infrastructural growth, and enable college to foster excellence in curricular, co-curricular and extra - curricular activities
    • * To discuss and deliberate all the academic issues before the subject is placed before the Academic Council and prepare the agenda for the meetings of the Academic Council.

     

    Operating Authorities:

    Functions:

    • * Recommends to the management for introducing new academic courses and the creation of additional teaching and administrative posts;
    • * Review the self-financing courses and  make recommendations for their improvement;
    • * Prepares the annual financial estimates (budget) and financial statements of the college or institution and recommend the same to the management approval;
    • * Formulates proposals for additional expenditure not provided for in the annual budget;
    • * Makes suggestions and recommendations regarding students welfare activities
    • * Frames suitable admission procedures for different programmes by following the statutory norms;
    • * Plans major annual events of the college, such as annual day, sports day, cultural events, Convocation Day.
    • * Recommends the administration about appropriate steps to be taken regarding discipline, safety and security issues of the college;
    • * Recommends the distribution of different prizes, medals and awards to the students;
    • * Performs such other duties and exercise such other powers as may be entrusted by the management and the university.
    • * The Secretary shall prepare the Agenda, Circular to all staff, recording the minutes and getting the action taken from the Heads of Department and related Department

  • GRIEVANCE APPEAL COMMITTEE

    Objectives:

    To make the Students feel free to ventilate their grievances regarding any problems they face in their academic as well as other activities including administration in the College.

    • * To create a platform where students can point out their problems regarding academic and non academic matters
    • * To develop on organizational frame work to resolve grievances of students
    • * To provide a support system for the students to address their grievances
    • * Encouraging the students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly without any fear or being victimized
    • * To make the institution student friendly and student centered.

    Functions:

    • * Students suggestion box is kept in the administrative block and the opinions of students are collected, analyzed and ratified.
    • * The students have the freedom to approach the Class Coordinators, HODs, Vice Principals and Principal to express their grievances and Principal shall take suitable measures to resolve such grievances  by the Grievances Committee then and there immediately.
    • * A separate Register showing the details of the student, grievances and action taken to resolve the same maintained.

  • EXAMINATION COMMITTEE

    Composition:

    Apart from having Coordinators for college examination (On rotation), the Committee will have its members (Teaching faculty) acting as Chief Superintendent , Additional Chief Superintendent  in connection with the conduct of internal examinations (Mid Term & Model) and end semester examinations.

    Objective:

    Smooth conducting of both internal and end Semester examinations.

    Functions:

    The Committee will

    • * Collect statistics on various papers and subject and enrolment of students with the given roll number of students.
    • * Arrange for Question Paper setting by the faculty members and printing of question papers.
    • * Prepare examination halls, invigilators list and support staff from office
    • * Allot Supervision duties
    • * The examination as per the time table prepares and conducts.
    • * To coordinate with the office of Controller of Examination in all the examination related activities.
    • * To monitor the filling and maintaining of all the records related to the conduct of examinations by the examination section of the office.
    • * Examination section of the office shall calculate the allowance due for examination duty / invigilation duty (checked by the office superintendent).

  • LIBRARY COMMITTEE

    Objectives:

    To maintain the Library and e-Library to provide information for the benefit of the students and staff to fulfill their educational / research / knowledge needs as per standardized procedures.

    Operating Authorities:

     

    Library staff, Librarian, Library Maintenance Committee, Members nominated by Principal, Vice Principals and Principal

     

    Procedures:  (Maintenance)

    • * The Library facilities have to be provided to the students and staff during prescribed hours of work viz.9.00 am to 5.30 pm. on all working days.
    • * The Library shall be managed with the Library Software Management system KOHA. This system shall be properly utilized and any modifications / up gradations as may be necessary shall be considered by the Library Maintenance Committee and recommendations submitted from time to time.
    • * There are totally 37 systems available which have to be maintained properly with the assistance of the System Administrator and Log Books for each system to be maintained.
    • * Renewal of Journal should be done periodically.
    • * The Library Books have to be physically verified by a Physical Verification Committee to be appointed by the Principal every year before May 31, every year  a list of missing Books shall be handed over to the Principal for taking appropriate actions as deemed necessary.
    • * The Books/ Journals have to be purchased based on funds availability every year getting a list of essential books/ Journals to be purchased which have to be evaluated  and recommended by the Library Purchase Committee. After approval by the Principal/ Secretary, the list of such books/ journals may be purchased and accession Nos. assigned and maintained as per the system prescribed.
    • * Any damaged books fit for binding shall be bound and allowed to be used after binding only. Necessary approval for such binding duly submitting a list of such books to the Principal has to be obtained in advance by the Librarian.
    • * Any books/ Journals worn out which cannot be used shall be listed out in Condemnation Register and approval shall be obtained from the Principal for such condemnation. If the same could be used as waste, then the same must be auctioned as per rules to fetch some revenue.
    • * List of books in need of binding has to be submitted to the Principal and the Librarian has to get the approval from the Principal for binding those books.

  • STUDENT WELFARE COMMITTEE

    As per the UGC guidelines, a Student Welfare Committee is constituted to take initiatives regarding Student Welfare, Progress and Development. The responsibilities of the committee include framing of rules and regulations, guidelines and policies for student’s welfare.

    Objective:

                To work for student welfare.

    Functions:

    The Committee will

    • * Consider applications for scholarship and select students for award of scholarship from Student Benefit Fund, Sponsorship from philanthropist and individuals etc.
    • * Select students for awards and prizes
    • * Ensure the healthy participation of students in intercollegiate events except sports activities
    • * Nominate teacher coordinator for various association clubs and student union subcommittee
    • * Recommend names of the students for grant to full / half free boarding hostels.
    • * Monitor the functioning of Mentor – Mentee / Tutorial Ward system regularly.
    • * Motivate and promote student participation in the programme organized by Placement Cell and Competitive Examination Coaching Centre of the college.
    • * Arrange for special coaching to the slow learners / Advanced learners on need basis.
    • * Maintain the records of evidence related to all Student Welfare Programmes.

  • SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

    Objectives:

    To ensure the maintenance of a ragging free campus and create awareness among the students about sexual harassment.

    Operating Authorities:

    Anti-ragging and Sexual harassment awareness Committee Members nominated by Principal, Co-ordinator, HODs, Vice Principals and Principal

    Procedures:

    • * Before the opening of the College for the First year students, all the senior students shall be called for a meeting with all the Heads of Departments by the Principal.
    • * During the meeting the senior students shall be informed of the consequences of ragging the Ist year students and advised not to indulge in such activities which will spoil the morale of the College. The Principal, Coordinator, HODs and the senior faculty members talk to the senior students about the need for treating the fresher’s with kindness.
    • * On the Opening day of the College, the senior students shall be advised to welcome them so that they will feel free and secured inside the campus.
    • * The phone numbers of the committee members shall be displayed at various places in the campus. Any untoward happening to the First year students shall be brought by them immediately to the knowledge of the concerned Coordinators for taking appropriate action.
    • * Arranging workshop / Seminar / Guest Lectures related to Sexual Harassment by inviting police personals, advocates, Judges and other authorities concerned to create awareness among the students.

  • ACADEMIC AUDIT COMMITTEE

    Objectives:

    To monitor academic performance and maintenance of academic records by the teacher and assess, whether the syllabus is covered.

    To evaluate the teaching and supervising method and obtain feedback from the students.

    Operating Authorities:

    Committee Members, External Subject Experts nominated, IQAC Coordinator, Vice Principal and Principal


    Functions:

    • * This Committee is in charge of monitoring/Checking the portal entry, academic diary/ leave arrangement register/ mark register/ and student performance in the monthly test /mid semester/ model examinations..
    • * Portions should be completed according to the allocation of hours for each unit. It should be mentioned in the Academic Diary.
    • * For each subject, Mid Semester & Monthly test papers must be selected randomly by the Controller of Examinations and it should be evaluated (scrutinized) by the committee members. Weaker students should be identified and a report submitted. 
    • * Staff portal details cross checked by enquiring the students.
    • *  Collected feedback from the students at the end of every semester regarding syllabus completion.
    • * Monthly report sends to the Chairman regarding the Academic activities carried out/ planned for next month.
    • * Checks whether the portions are covered according to the allocation of hours for each unit.
