ADM College for Women (Autonomous)

History  of  the  Department:

The Statistics department of A.D.M. College  for  women was started in August 1980 as Allied Department. Ancillary Statistics was introduced for B.A. Economics, B.Com, and B.Sc. Mathematics.sw Allied Statistics was introduced to B.A., History also from 2005-2006  to  2008-2009. 

At present there are two staff in the department. Mrs.A.Madheswari is the H.O.D and Mrs.K.Pushpanayaki  is the Associate professor of Statistics.

For I B.com one core Statistics is offered
For  B.A Economics three Allied statistics papers are offered.
For II B.Sc Mathematics three Allied statistics Papers are offered.
For M.com., one core paper Business Statistics is offered. (Core course)
For B.A., History one allied statistics paper Quantitative Methods is Offered from 2010-2011 batch onwards.
When choice based credit system (CBCS) pattern was introduced during the year 2005-2006, the syllabus was reoriented according to the hours, credits and need of the students.

  Department of statistics is in-charge of collecting and analyzing feedback from all the stakeholders.

Objectives

• Data collection : It helps in conducting survey in all fields.
• Employability : Any degree with allied statistics is eligible for Statistical Investigator.
• SPSS : This package is used at Research Level in all fields.
