Department of Computer Science

HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science in our college was established in the year 1994 to develop young minds with active and creativeness for improving their skill-sets needed for enriched career development, along with imbibing high moral values in them and to achieve excellence in academics by rigorous value based education and outstanding teaching practices. It offers two  UG courses viz., B.Sc., Computer Science, and Bachelor of Computer Applications and one PG course M.Sc., Computer Science.
Besides these programmes, we offer computer related short-term programmes from time to time. Various workshops, seminars and symposia have been organized in our department so far, which have strengthened both the teaching and research activities of the department. A networked laboratory was established at the department, providing state-of-the-art facilities. Subsequently, new powerful servers and several workstations were added to the laboratory and electives for bioinformatics were added to the syllabus.
The teaching methodology in the department goes beyond fulfilling the syllabus requirements of the University, to meet the today’s industry needs. Faculty motivates and guides the students to do mini projects in core subjects. Special focus is given to develop Communication and Soft skills. The department is having strong association with industries to uplift the student’s practical knowledge.
