The Bachelor in Vocation program Marine Food Processing and Preservation Technology is divided into six semester having 180 credits. Each semester will have courses based on General Education Components and Skill Development Components, out of which six subject will be dedicated for theory (each theory course will have inbuilt practical / tutorial/ skill development components) and Food Processing Technology courses will be devoted to Laboratory Work / Project / Industrial Training / In-plant Internship. This program offers following General Education Components which include communication skill, computer fundamental, Environment Science, Personality development, Economics & Management etc. whereas Skill Development Components includes Food chemistry, biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, human Nutrition, Processing Technology of Fruits & Vegetables, Cereals, Legumes, oil seeds, spices and condiments , Meat, fish and poultry, milk and milk products, Bakery and confectionary technology. Food analysis, food safety, regulations and quality management, special implant training, seminar and project etc.
The department of B.Voc marine was established in the year 2018 as a self financing section of and recognized by the Government of Tamilnadu. At present the department offers under graduate department, offering B.Voc programme with a special emphasis on basics of advanced subjects and innovative techniques in Modern Food Processing Technology.
